The 4th of July

We spent the weekend in Utah with some great friends! They were our first neighbors when we moved to Rexburg and all 4 of us became instant best friends(David was a month old). They have since moved and we really miss them! It was so great to spend a couple days with them.

Sydney with their adorable daughter.

Scott and Lance playing video games. That's, I think, their favorite past time, besides maybe running to the store to buy treats together(which they also did). Scott wishes they had had more time to play together.

We ate dinner at the Brick Oven where Lance works. Because everyone waiting(tons and tons of people!) were in large groups they slipped us right in. We didn't wait at all. This is Leanna and Lance with their cutie patootie daughter. =)
Afterwards we spent a little time at the duck pond on campus that was just down the road.

Leanna had our camera while I was changing Sydney's diaper and she caught David mid jump! That's his favorite past time.

We went down the road from their place to watch the stadium of Fire from a distance. I wasn't expecting much because we seemed so far away, but it was really cool! It was so loud I don't know if I could've been right there in the stadium.
David LOVED the fireworks. He couldn't get enough.

Like our prime curb side seats? Aparently it was a very popular spot for those in the neighborhood to watch the fireworks from because as we waited more and more people kept coming and it got rather crowded!

Our Garden!

So on Wednesday I went and spent the whole day at my Bro and Sis in law's house in the garden. She and I pulled weeds for about 7 hours! Crazy I know. That's what happens when you've never heard of Preen until after your garden is already overwhelmed. But it's ok. Our plants haven't seemed to be bothered by them(they are doing great!) and I don't mind pulling them. Atleast, not mostly. We almost have the whole thing cleared! We actually have a Vole(that's what they're called here?) digging around and stealing our lettuce and spinache from underneath. Between last Saturday and Wed. we lost a whole row(5 ft) of lettuce and several spinache plants. When I was there I stomped all the trails in I could find. So frustrating! But anyways, here's a look at our beautiful plants! The beans and zuccini are a little small because we had no chance to plant them on time with all the rain we've been having. Corn is small too but no picture. The rest should be right on and I'm excited to see what we get!

Sydney sat next to me in the garden for a while, playing and eating dirt. Yum!

Beans...
Cabbage...

Onions...

Lettuce varieties...
Carrots...
Zuccini...
Broccoli...
Spinache...
Pea blossom. I thought it was cool even out of focus.

Peas...I realize I didn't do the best job stringing them up, but hey! It was my first time.
Tomatoes in a square foot gardening raised bed. My sis in law wanted to try this as well and I have to say it is rather nice.
Pepper...

Family Visit!

From Saturday evening to Tuesday midday my Mom and three younger sister's were up here visiting us! We didn't make any 'plans' because they just wanted to spend time with us. aka: the kids. haha. But we had a great time. It was so good to see them again, and our kids had a blast with them too. We hung out at our place and at various parks and took lot's of pictures. So enjoy!

Sisters...minus the oldest.

Us girls with Mom.
Sydney likes to rub spaghetti sauce in her hair. It was pretty hilarious! Maybe clicking on the picture will let you see it better.
Rosalee and David playing on our banana chair.
J and Julia
Clarissa, J and Julia at the Nature park. We were escaping our HOT apartment.
Scottie and I
Adorable. This girl loves to explore.
Sydney was on the other side. David loves to play with her by making faces and funny noises.

He's pretty handsome.
The next day we went to play in the water together. David had fun with his aunts getting all wet!
Sydney loved it too.
Chillin...
I can't believe she let me get this picture. My kids DO NOT hold still for longer than a nano second and it's impossible for me to get good action shots of them. This was a rarity. A second later she was up and running, twisting and turning.
She was loving her aunts company. Look at the cute belly!
Beautiful girls.

Sydney just randomly started doing this to Clarissa. It was pretty dang cute.

Saying goodbye after lunch. David loved seeing his Grandma.

Mom and I. I'm so glad they came to visit. We had so much fun and can't wait to see them again in a month!

Our Ward Campout

On Friday we went to our ward campout dinner. We weren't brave enough to camp with the kids yet, but we still had a blast. It actually poured for the 2 hours leading up to it, but I told Scott I still wanted to go because I was sure it was going to stop and I wanted to support it. What a great guy- even though he had homework to do he went for me. When we got there the rain had stopped and the sun had come out and it was just beautiful. The group from the ward was definately smaller than it would've been with out rain I'm sure, but it was actually a lot of fun that way. There were about 10 couples(several with young kids) that came and it was fun to chat with everyone rather than feel overwhelmed with the amount of people and to talk to. That's how I get any way. David had such a great time wandering around with out me having to tell him to stay close(so nice!), and Sydney had fun too, though she had to be held the whole time because the ground was really wet and she had no shoes to wear(she does now. Thanks mom!)

This is David and another boy from the ward clapping hands together on the swing.

Most of the group including our great bishop on the right in the tan coat.

The guys around the fire a little later. Scott's across the fire in the white hat.
David kept going up these steep stairs when I wasn't looking.

Some ladies from our ward with their kids.

Sydney would not let anyone else hold her until I gave her half a hamburger bun. Then my friend here was her best friend. She kept making the cutest faces so I took a lot of pictures.

I have to say I was jealous of this! haha. One second she just started grabbing my friend in a huge hug and snuggling close. I'm not sure why she did that(she NEVER does that!) but it was sure cute!

Spray Park Adventures

On Wednesday the kids and I played at the spray park after my walk. I didn't bring Sydney's swim suit, though I should've because she was so into it. It was her second time really getting into it and getting wet. David even got more into it than ever before. He almost went up the stairs leading to the water slides, but when he got too close and felt the spray of some of the sprinklers shooting over them he decided better of it. =) Sydney was not being shy at all about getting all wet. But after I took these pictures she got completely drenched and that changed that. The whole thing is on a timer and it turned off. Sydney was up and walking quite fast all around. I turned my back to look at David for 2 seconds, the water was turned back on, and I turn around to Sydney being pounded with water from a huge fountain. Sad day! After that she just want to stay right next to me. My poor kids. They get traumatized so easily. =( Hopefully she'll try again next time.

David mostly just wanted to sit on one the whole time.
She wanted to drink it!

Expecting

Yes, I am! I'm about 12 weeks now so I thought I might as well get a move on telling people. Family and close friends have known for a few weeks now though. This came as a very big shocker to me, and I'm still a little worried, but we are also very excited. Sydney and this one will be about 19 months apart. David and Sydney are also 19 months apart. Three kids with the oldest barely 3yrs old! I think I will be busy!

These two pictures are what we sent out to family to let them know...

In case you're wondering why I waited so long to tell, it's just because I didn't feel the need to tell so much this time around. In fact it's late and I'm half asleep and I might regret doing this in the morning. Haha, jk.

Father's Day

So yesterday Scott celebrated his 3rd Father's Day as a father. And he is such a good daddy! Our children love him so much! I am so blessed to be married to such an all around great man. And I am also so grateful for my own father. He has taught me so much and has always been a great example.

This is what we did for Scott that morning. The crepes were soooo good! We hadn't had them in a long time so it was exciting when Scott requested them. mmmmmm!

Scott's not really asleep. He just likes to pretend when I pull out the camera. =) The kids love to play with him!Night time stories!

Rexburg Air Show

We were so blessed on Saturday to have tolerable weather so we could go to the Air show right here in town. It was a 70% chance of rain, but it held off until basically right after the show was finished. The sun even poked through a little too. We went to this show last year and absolutely loved it so we wanted to go back again. This year it was just as good of a show. We love this type of thing! David was scared though for most of it. He loved watching them practice from our window the night before, but being underneath them was a little too much for him I think. It was still a great time though. I think it's so cool they have such an amazing show right here in Rexburg. It really is a very fun place to be in the summer. Anyway, here are some pictures. None of the airplanes, sorry! Our new camera doesn't have quite so big a zoom on it!

Pushing and Walking

Here are 3 videos of my adorable kids. They're mostly meant for immediate family, so sorry this might not be so amazing for the rest of you. =)

Sydney loves to climb into this truck. She does it all the time. And David likes to push her around sometimes. He's so good and gentle about it and Sydney loves it. video video

I was trying to upload another video of David and it was just taking waaaaayyyy too long so we'll try it again later. Sorry Tanner!

I Love Being Outside

With all this rain we haven't gotten out much, but today was only partly cloudy and warm! I took the kids out for a few hours, starting at the nature park where we fed the ducklings and I got my walk in. Then to Porter park where we met up with my sister in law and her 3 youngest kids for lunch and playing at the Spray park. It was a great time! And here are some pictures that thankfully are not just of the kids inside!

This was a tiny flower but I have this awesome macro setting that lets me get way closer than the normal macro setting does(which I also have). I think I've decided to keep the camera we bought. I am very happy with how the camera worked today.

Thankyou to Hiedi who took the pictures of the kids playing in the water for me so I could feed Sydney her lunch!

Stuff

So I am at a TOTAL loss of what to post about. Nothing has really been happening, so here are just a few pictures from the last week.

Every now and then Sydney will sit down and flip through a book on her own. She knows exactly how to do it and I love watching her little fingers flip the pages.
Currently one of the kids favorite things to do is to play on David's bed together. Sydney is pretty well balanced and hasn't hurt herself yet.

David always wants to go on the horsies like in Mary Poppins when we're at the park, so one day I took him on it and he acted afraid the whole time. Go figure! haha. I had fun.

Our One Year Old Darling

I can't believe my little girl is already a year old! The time has just flown by, but also at the same time it feels like she's been in our family forever. She has been such a joy and we love her so much. Some things about Sydney: She's 18 1/2 pounds(10th percentile) and 28 inches long(20th percentile). She's quickly gaining speed and now likes to chase David around the apartment. Something that David loves as well. They giggle and laugh and throw themselves on the floor. It's very cute. She now speaking in various garbles rather than just mama and dada. She's loving real people food, yesterday spending an hour for each meal eating all she could get her hands on. She still has a little stranger anxiety, mostly when she realizes she's beeing left behind. But I am optimistic she's getting a little better each time. She is not afraid of getting dirty and when we're outside she puts everything from bark to rocks to pine cones in her mouth as quickly as she can. I'm constantly taking things out. Luckily she never tries to swallow, she just keeps it at the front of her mouth and chomps on it. She LOVES to swing. She loves story time. She loves to clap when I say good job. She loves to push on my nose while I make a beep sound. She absolutely loves bath time, but likes to stand up and I'm always sitting her back down. And she also loves to cuddle with Daddy. Something I'm a little jealous of. =) We feel so blessed to be her parents and are looking forward to watching her grow each and every year.

I had to include this picture as well because I didn't know how to describe it good with words. In this picture she is very excited and shrieking to make it known.

Sydney is a Year Old

We had a family birthday party for her on Sunday, though her birthday is today. She had a great time walking to everbody and eating her cake. She was a little unsure of it at first(especially when Scott planted her hands in it right after she blew out the candle), but once she realized how good it tasted she went for it. It was fun to get all the family in this area together again, though I have to say our apartment is just a little small for all those energetic Pingry boys! haha jk, you're always welcome. I didn't get a good picture of everyone but it sure was crowded! In the first few pictures David and Scott are enjoying a almost liquid jello through straws before the party began.
I'm going to be posting another post very soon that will be all about Sydney. But for now, Happy Birthday!

Sydney Walking!

video

I wish I had a camera a few days ago to catch her when she was really shaky, but this is still way cute.

The video on this new camera isn't as nice as our old camera, but I knew it wouldn't be when I bought it. I gave that up for some other nice things. Hopefully I don't regret it! =)

Coming soon...

We just bought a camera so updates will be coming soon!
It doesn't have as big a zoom as our other camera, and it doesn't have an LCD screen that pops out and flips around, but it has many things I'm really excited about so hopefully I won't miss the other's too much.

Sorry about the big picture. I tried to fix it but it's not working and I don't feel like trying harder. =)
