Pictures for my other brother and sister in law

A couple weeks ago I took pictures for Scott's older sister and her family. They just live about 10 minutes away so we have spent a lot of time with them. It was a lot of fun to take their family photos! We just walked around their neighborhood. The first few spots we found were in bright sun light and it just wasn't working so I won't even post those pictures. But finally right at the end we found some well established shade and they turned out so much better! I don't think I will EVER intentionally shoot in bright sunlight ever again.

Our Big Boy David

There has been a sad lack of posts about David for like a month now and I feel kinda bad about it! It's definitely not for lack of cuteness or adorable doings. He is just getting cuter and cuter in a big boy way. His vocabulary is expanding every day and it is so much fun to talk to him. He plays with Sydney well most of the time, and is in love with his little brother. He get's so excited about the most simple things and it always brightens up my day, and he loves to give us all hugs and kisses. Seriously David is the cutest boy ever!! Not that I'm biased or anything.

Yesterday we went to the Farmer's Market. It was a special day where they had games and drawings for the kids, the release of 10,000 ladybugs, and fire trucks and an ambulance they could get an inside look at. David wasn't interested in getting in them because he didn't want to "drive away" but he did get to knock some things off the top of an orange cone with the fire hose! He loved that.

I LOVE this picture.

We met up with Scott's older sister Heidi and her kids. This is David's cousin Naomi.
They're buddies.

Then he started being silly and we were racing back and forth, me teasingly trying to catch him on the camera, and him trying to smile and run away before I could take it. The little stinker! =)
I think Sydney is not the only one with the tongue thing. lol.

They were playing music and David felt comfortable enough with all the other kids running around to break out in a dance...
Sure do love our big boy!

Sydney's Birthday

If you know Sydney then you know she doesn't handle lot's of attention very well, especially when it's unexpected. I was excited for her to have her birthday but was a little worried she'd end up scowling over her cake as we sang to her. Well the day started off great.

I know she loves Cinderella and looking at the other Disney Princesses so I bought her Disney Princess wrapping paper. Before lunch, before I'd used it I showed the row to Sydney, very enthusiastically pointing out the crowns they were all wearing. I had bought her a pretty crown and knew she'd never let it on her head if I just popped it out all excited and plopped it on her head. My plan worked. She couldn't stop looking at the Princesses and crowns. I knew it was probably safe then and pulled it out asking her if she wanted to wear a crown like Cinderella, pointing again at her enthusiastically. Sydney was excited about it and soon after couldn't stop looking at herself in the mirror. We've never done princess stuff before so it was fun.

Then we had nap time, and when she awoke I knew we might have issues with the crown because that's just post nap Sydney...

But it luckily didn't take long for her to remember she liked it and life was good again. :)

I need to take a break from Sydney for a moment and show off my friends awesome cake making skills...
You can find her at Megan's Specialty Cakes. She also made David's Mickey Mouse Club House cake last November, if you remember that. She'd love to do a cake for those of you in or around Rexburg!

Sydney always points out the bugs in book illustrations. Put that with girly colors and I knew it'd be perfect for our little girl.

About to blow out the candles. I wasn't sure she'd do it so I totally missed getting a picture!
Mmmmmm, strawberry with chocolate frosting...
Sydney opening presents. You can't really see her face but she's very excited.

David was so excited about this one he couldn't wait for her to open it. He kept saying what it was and waving it around. Luckily at the time Sydney was distracted by the cake.

Once she realized what it was she was extremely excited saying, "What's that! What's that!" and just wanted to look at it. Tinkerbell the movie that both the kids love.
We should have opened the other two presents(books) first because she tossed them aside as soon as she saw them and went back to the movie!

I failed to get pictures of anyone that was there, but thank you Heidi, Naomi, a few second cousins to Sydney, and my friend Madaline for sharing the evening with her!

Sydney Is Two!

Today our little girl is two years old! So much fun! These last two years with her have been such an adventure. She definitely helps keep our lives from being boring! What a blessing she is to us. Sydney is a beautiful girl who knows exactly what she wants. She has a funny glare that she gives most everyone that gives her the time of day. At home where she's more in her element she is such a sweetheart. She has such a sweet voice and I love to listen to her when she's pointing things out or talking to her siblings. She's still working on saying more words, but she's getting better. She has the most precious smile that melts my heart, and when she get's excited about something her eyes light up andI just can't handle how cute she is. She loves sitting on my lap and I try to do it as much as possible because I know Parker takes a lot of my holding time. She loves to read books, she loves to color, she loves Cinderella, she loves to have me play with/do her hair, she snarfs food like I've never seen, she loves her baby brother, she tries to emulate her big brother, and she LOVES her Daddy. We just love our little girl so much! Happy Birthday!

Parker at 5 Months

He turns 5 months tomorrow, but since that is also Sydney's 2nd birthday I'm doing his today. I really can't believe how much Parker has grown this last month. Here are some things he's started doing this month:
Grabbing for things on the table/desk when he's in our laps.
Grabbing and sucking on his feet
Standing extremely well in our laps
Going to bed for the night a LOT earlier(think 10:30pm to 7:30pm!)
Trying to roll over and grab the wipes while I'm trying to change his diaper making it much more difficult.
And I think those are most of the new things. We just can't believe how adorable and happy and lovable he is. I mean look at him! : )

As soon as he realized what this keyboard did he just couldn't stop pounding on it! And I think it's so funny because he was sticking his tongue out most of the time, just like I did as a kid while playing the piano!
Grabbing the toesies

Here's an ADORABLE video of Parker spitting. So silly!

Who Needs Paper When I've Got Skin?

I found out a couple hours later that she'd painted on her stomache too!

This is classic Sydney. If she doesn't know you very well or at all, chances are high she will glare at you just like this. And of course she does it to me when she knows she's done something she shouldn't do.

A New Do For Sydney

Her hair is getting just a tiny bit longer so I tried something different the other day. Thought it turned out pretty cute!

Planting Our Garden

We finally had a chance to get our garden going this Memorial weekend. My bro and sis in law's Home Teacher(in our church they come visit and help out with whatever) came and rototilled it for us which made things so much easier and cheaper! A lot of the people in their ward are farmers and he had a tractor he brought in and did it with. Thank you! It was kind of a busy day trying to get everything together so we didn't actually start planting until the last hour of day light. Every one pitched in though and it was done in no time! Earlier I spent an hour and half running around town looking for some seeds. Yeah we probably should've bought them previously because the obvious places were all out of the ones we needed. I finally found the last couple we really wanted at the grocery store! Thank goodness for that! When I got back the food was ready(they at with out me but that's ok because that meant I didn't have to deal with feeding the kids at all!) and I got to eat. Yay. So we're really excited about this and hope it turns out great like last year!

David and Sydney were VERY excited to help plant the seeds. Neither of them cared at all last year(well Sydney was not even 1 yet) but David especially really wanted to be a part of it and understood that these were going to grow into "Peas!"   We'd point to where Sydney should put the seed and she'd just drop it from standing position into that general area. It was pretty cute!
