3 Weeks of Cuteness

(There is a second post below this one)

Parker is a little over 3 weeks old now and he couldn't be any cuter! If you can't tell from the pictures he is extremely alert and observant. He also can already hold his head up and steady.

Creative Fun

Lately we have beein finding new ways to have fun besides going out. Friday morning they played here in the sink for over an hour if not two. I didn't keep track because I was busy getting things done. It was wonderful!

More pictures for family to enjoy...

Parker is such a sweetheart!! I find I can't get enough of his cuddly cheeks. He's a little mover too. Imagine that! I don't think it's possible for Scott and I to have a child that's not. We're loving our little bundle of joy!

I think with each child I've taken less and less pictures. I really need to remedy this! But here are a couple from a couple days ago.

It's been hard being cooped up for so long, but we're surviving. David and Sydney have a lot of fun together, and as you can see they still love the window...
Ready for church. This year David has moved from Nursery to Primary and I still can't believe it. How did my boy get so big? Sydney is getting more comfortable in nursery and I'm hoping she'll get over the need to only sit in my friends lap soon(she's now a leader in nursery and it was lucky for me because Sydney loves her!).

Babies Bedding:Is it creating toxic nerve gasses?

My cousin posted this on her blog and I was so appalled by the info that I had to post it on mine too. It's an article that talks about research done on toxic chemicals put in mattresses and bacteria that grows in them, and together creating toxic nerve gasses. The research shows that it is a very likely explanation of SIDS. I personally am convinced. I know a lot of mom's read my blog and I highly recommend reading this article!

First Captured Smile

Sure, maybe it's not quite the real thing where he intended to smile, but it's still cute nonetheless!

And a couple more pictures just for fun...
Make sure to check out the two posts below. I did 3 posts in one night!

My New Favorite Dessert

Those of you who know me well know that I am one of those women who can't live with out my chocolate. It's just the way it is. I am also a big fan of having some mint with my chocolate. Well I just found the best of both worlds. Cakies(chocolate cake mix, 2 eggs, 1 cube butter) and peppermint ice cream(crushed candy canes in vanilla ice cream and a little peppermint extract). My mom introduced me to these cakies during her visit, and then later I thought to do this. It was AMAZING. Simply divine. No exaggeration. It's a good thing the rest of our cake mixes are buried some where in the storage because I don't want to even start trying to dig them out, yet it keeps me from buying more. Other wise I wouldn't be able to resist stuffing myself with this amazingness. Try it!

Kids on Display

My kids love to climb up into the window. If you're out in the parking lot at the right time, you'll get to see my kids blowing wet raspberries on it.

More Fun with Family

Shortly after my Mom and little sister left, my older sister Annalise came to visit. Even though she was only here a day and a half we still had a great time! My brother J came over as well and both of them had so much fun playing with our kids!!

Here they are taking distorted pictures of themselves with J's laptop. David found this extremely hilarious and couldn't stop laughing.
Having fun but not sure at the same time.

Glad I thought to take this not too long before my sister left. We had a great time just hanging out and she was a big help too! Thanks Annalise!

Parker's First Week

From Saturday night to this morning my Mom and Clarissa were here helping us out and giving me company. We had a fun time and I really appreciated the help! Recovery is going really well. I feel great and am getting lot's of sleep at night! We are loving Parker(obviously)! He is such a perfect little baby and we feel so blessed to have him. He has also doubled in his cuteness the last several days too, but unfortunately none of these pictures do him justice. But I know some of you are dying to see some more so here ya go! =) Tonight at 12:47am he will be 1 week old!

Sydney holding his hand. Poor Sydney has been very boogery and coughy since he was born and so though she wants to be so close to him we have to atleast try to keep some space between them. I can't wait until she can hold him and kiss him all she wants!

Wednesday we went to the park so the kids could run around. They were SO happy to go to the park again! We haven't been able to go for a few months now. Poor kids!

In heaven making cookies with Grandma!

Parker John Sorenson

Friday, January 8th, 2010 at 12:47am our son Parker John Sorenson(his middle name being named after his Grandpa Farmer) was born! He was 7 lbs 9 oz and 19 in. long. And it was quite the adventure too. I started having real contractions at about 5:30pm Thursday, and finally decided to go to the hospital around 11pm. With Sydney is went to the hospital being dilated to a four and they made me walk for an hour. That was no fun at all so I really wanted to avoid that this time around. My dad had just arrived at 6:30 to hang out for the weekend(before we knew I'd be having the baby) and my brother came over and I thought I'd much rather be playing games with them than walking laps in the hospital. So, when I get there I'm a 5 1/2, they get me rolling and my nurse midwife arrives to be with me the whole time. The anesthesiologist came about an hour later and I got the epidural I was planning on. After the epidural started kicking in a few minutes later they checked me (I was a 6) and they broke my water. I had a few more contractions before I was hit(and the baby) with an 8 minute contraction. Parker's heart rate dropped to the 50's and after trying different positions and hoping the contraction would end any second they said, "Ok. I'm going to check you. Maybe you're already complete. If not, we're going to have to make some decisions." So they check me and I am very complete so they said "Let's have a baby!" I pushed for a minute(if that) and Parker was born. He had the cord wrapped around his neck and after checking him for a minute while he layed on me they took him to the side of the room to help him breath which he was having a hard time doing on his own. For a few minutes they thought he might have to go to the NICU, but he started doing a better and I got to have him back to feed him. After that, he was totally fine. By the way, from when they broke my water at a 6 to when he was born it was only 14 minutes. Talk about speedy! The epidural had kicked in enough to kill the pain, but my legs didn't become logs until after they took the epidural out after he was born. That was a little weird and funny. I had it in me for like 20 minutes. Anyway, I'll stop blabbing now and show you some pictures!! He's such a cutie!!

Proud Daddy!

We were told no one under 18 could visit, so we settled for a picture of just the 3 of us rather than the whole family.

I didn't get pictures of everyone who visited, though I tried! I'm sorry, but we so appreciate all the love. =) Here is my brother J with Parker Friday evening.

Scott eating his steak and shrimp dinner, complimentary of the hospital. It was yummy!

Just about to go home Saturday afternoon!

My Dad, who babysat our kids the whole time we were gone. Thanks Dad!!

The kids (especially David) were SO excited to see their little brother. When they woke up from nap he walked straight up to me and started talking and kissing him and wanting to hold him. It was PRECIOUS.

Now a picture of our whole family! Sydney looks a little out of it because she got sick again. Poor thing! Later that day though she came around and ever since has also been very enthusiastic about her little brother. She is so cute about it and wants to hold him too!

He is a really good eater. Something I'm so happy about because I haven't been stressed at the beginning like I had with my first two. He hardly cries, even when he's hungry. He just quietly starts rooting around with his mouth. And he loves to look all around the room even though I know he can't see much but contrast. We are just so glad that Parker is a happy healthy boy despite the early scare, and we are so glad to have him join our family!! Bringing a new child into this world is such a miracle and blessing. I will be taking lot's more pictures so stay tuned!!
