Olive Lover

David has just recently tried olives and he absolutely loves them. And then when I showed him that he could put it on his finger he was soooo very excited. He would have eaten the whole can if I had let him. Scott is not too happy about this though. He HATES olives. Oh well, guess he's a loner in the house with that one so far. =) David's impression of a sheep is hilarious.

Too Fat to Model?

So there was this snippet on the TODAY show that I watch every day that I find to be a very important issue that needs addressing. I tried to put the video on my blog but couldn't quite figure it out so here is the link. The video name is the same as the post title. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/24614709#24614709
It's about how runway models are getting too thin and how one very young model is speaking out about it. I have just always thought it is so sad that so many girls in our society think they have to be stick skinny to be beautiful, and that a lot of them eat hardly anything to get that way. I don't agree with this at all! Anyways, sorry about my little rant. This is just something I have always felt very strongly about and could go on and on. Watch the video!

And on a happier note I got our digital camera back(Scott lent it to a coworker) and will try to post something about David soon(for you Annalise!) and a pregnant photo since I haven't in a while. =)

Pregnant Photos

My friend Tiffany let me take her pregnant photos this morning. It was windy and cold but she was such a good sport and I think she looks great.

Some Updates

So I have a few things to mention. I know this post looks too long to read, but it is worth it I promise! Atleast for family.

I am now 37 weeks along today! Doctor says everything is going great, and that since David came 2 weeks early it ups my chances of it happening again. I'm not counting on it, but the fact that it "could" happen makes me a little anxious. That's Memorial day! Too soon! I think if she needs to come early it should be a couple days to a week. That would be good.
Scott and I have gotten a new calling. We are Sunday School Teachers! And for those of you who don't remember we're in a married student ward so it's not teenagers but people around our age. I'm a bit nervous! I have never ever taught a lesson before. Scott is really good at it and loves it, but it will take me some getting used to. It will be good for me right? Maybe not so much for the people listening but, no I'm jk. I'm excited to learn something new.
Saturday night Scott and I went to see Prince Caspian and I just have to mention it cause it was so good! We both really liked it. I like the Lion the witch and the wardrobe despite some cheesy things, but this one is great. Much more of a war film actually. But still pretty funny in parts and great symbolism that I love. The only thing that puzzles me is how they got away with a PG rating. It is very clearly a PG-13 film. oh well. Not sure it would be great for children under 13 though.
After lot's of hard work on Scott's part his 3D Settlers of Catan (board game) is now finished. Yay! He spent so much time on it. He did EVERYTHING. He found the wood in a room in the Austin building where he does janitorial. They usually throw the extra wood away, but Scott decided to keep some too. He used a chop saw and sanded, stained and sealed everything. And really the only thing I helped him with was finding things to use as the resources. Never thought I'd see Scott walk into a craft store willingly. :) The only thing we are still trying to work out is how to do the deserts. We have some ideas but Scott wants to come up with better ones. As you can see he had some fun doing different things with the Ore and Brick. But anyways, it looks totally awesome and is a lot of fun to play on. Scott won playing on it last night. It seems like we play it with various people multiple times a week. He's so proud of it I'm not sure it's going to leave the kitchen table for a while. =)

The other day I decided it was so hot I needed to make a smoothie. It was David's first time eating one that wasn't Jamba Juice and let's just say he loved it! I thought the picture was pretty cute.
Around a month ago we went swimming with some friends and though I forgot my camera, my friend was able to take some fun ones and send them along to me. David wasn't too keen on being in the pool, but if I was holding him and not throwing him around he was ok.

Alicia's Photos

I decided I'd put up some of my pictures for people to see. I am trying to build up my portfolio so I can start my own business. These are just some of the pictures I've done in the last year. Eventually, after I have a lot more to show I will make a blog specifically for showing them in the hopes of getting some business. We'll see. Hope you enjoy.

Mom's Day

Yesterday was such a good day. This is my second Mothers Day actually being a Mom and I love it. I woke up to half of these beautiful flowers sitting next to the bed, and then went out to the main room to find there were more plus a card (I know it says birthday in the small words. Scott crossed Birth out and wrote Big.). Scott is so wonderful. I love him so much. But a new fun thing I got to experience this time around was my son giving me something. In nursery they helped him color that little vase with flowers in the picture, and helped him sign his name. In person you can see the parts he actually did himself-so cute. It says, Mom I love you, David. I love being a Mom. It is so rewarding in so many ways.

This is one of David's favorite things to do now. He waves at every car that goes through the parking lot, and every person walking by. It's cute but kinda a hassle since I have to be right with him cause he has a hard time manuvering around while he's up there and can fall.

Interesting...

HowManyOfMe.com
LogoThere are
13
people with my name
in the U.S.A.

How many have your name?

That's for Alicia Sorenson. Not that many! For Alicia Farmer it was 67, but that's not really my name anymore.

Here is an explanation for those of you who aparently don't exist.

Q: Why isn't my name on the list?

The list of names from the census bureau isn't complete. For privacy reasons, names with relatively few responses were not included in the list. We used this data to create this site. Our site can only be as good as the data we have to work with.

Around 1 out of every 10 people will have a last name not on the list.
Around 1 out of every 10 people will have a first name not on the list.
Using the same statistical fallacy this site is known for, that means about 81% of people will have both names on the list. In a mathematical coup our scientists have determined from this information that about 19% of people will have either one or both names missing from the list.

Baby Shower, Updates, and Feeding Ducks!

Saturday morning these 2 lovely pregnant ladies threw me a baby shower. I meant to get a picture of everyone that went but of course I forgot. But it was a lot of fun! Thanks! So I'm due on June 9th, my friend on the left is due June 12th, and my friend on the right is due June 16th. We'll see what happens!
Stroller update: We finally got one that wasn't broken from shipping. So that is great. We tried it out today and I'm really happy with it. For those of you who are new to my blog, scroll down a ways to see what stroller we got.
Thanks to everyone who voted on our poll! I can't believe how many votes we got! Are you guys sure you only voted once? ; ) I think I am now just leaning towards Faith and Klaire. Sorry to all you guys who voted for Sydney! I still like the name so maybe a future daughter will get it.

Sunday night we went with some friends to the nature park and fed the ducks and hung out till past sunset. It was Davids first time feeding ducks and he loved it! He threw the bread to them and everything. He was already in his pajamas when we decided to go to the park instead of putting him to bed. That's why his outfit might look a little funny. =)

I had to put up this picture Scott took of me cause, seriously, I'm not in any of our pictures!
My hot husband!

Isn't the sunset pretty?
I've been posting like a maniac, so if you haven't been to see our blog in a few days, don't miss some other newer posts below!

New Obsession

David has this real intense obsession all of a sudden with Trucks, Tractors, Lawn Mowers, basically anything with big wheels and moves. I never really encouraged it, it's just the boy coming out in him I guess. But it is soooo funny and cute. It's like constant. He points some out I would never notice and freaks out about it. This morning at the park there were 2 riding lawn mowers zipping around, and a tractor digging up a stump. He was so enthrawled he didn't really care about the playground much. He'd get distracted half way up the steps and be in his friend Tanner's way. Anyway, so here's a video. It was kinda hard to get it cause he just wanted to run over to the tractor which I wouldn't let him do.

And here are a couple pictures of David on the playground.

Bubble

This is David's newest word. And like most of them he gets lazy after learning them and goes to just saying half the word. Other words he's done this to are Yes, Diaper, Daddy, and Ball. So here are 2 videos: one where he actually says it, and one where he is being lazy about it (but it's really cute).

David also has a new habit of putting his head to the floor like an ostrich and walking along scraping his head on the floor. I don't know why he enjoys doing this, especially when it gives him rugburns. But whatever! =) Now he has a permanent mark on his forehead! Atleast til he stops doing it.
