McCall 2010 part 1

When the reunion was done in Lake Tahoe we drove straight up to McCall Idaho where my immediate family was staying in our cabin on Payette lake for a week before the big Farmer reunion. We all arrived Friday evening/night, July 30th. Annalise and Steve only got to be with us for that first weekend, but we sure had a blast!

This first post is already so long I'm going to split all this up. In this one are just some random pictures from the whole week, and then all the best pictures involving playing with the boat!
I got my sister Annalise's photo's and my sister Rosalee's, so this is a mish mash of theirs and mine. Click on the picture if you want to see a nicer/bigger version!

I also am not in the mood to edit a million pictures(especially since I'm currently editing pictures I got paid for) so most of these might not be all that amazing as far as perfection goes.

Just having fun...

The three of us posed for this picture and didn't know what Annalise and Steve were doing, so when we turned the camera around to see how it turned out we busted out laughing!

David and I were playing catch on the beach and every time it rolled into the water we'd race for it. Of course he got there first every time. =)

Boating fun

Sydney loved to use the flag to splash people, particularly Grandpa Farmer!

That's me surfing with out a rope!

Driving the boat!

Steve really took to Parker and it was great to have another baby holder!

Steve and Annalise chatting with Dad right after she was done wake boarding.

Julia Julia!

She's getting pretty dang good! My brother's J and David can land jumps as well.

Sydney really LOVED the boat. That's all she wanted to do.

That's my hubby wake boarding!

Steve holding the flag for Annalise as Dad lets out the rope.

That's my Mom surfing! She can do it without the rope too, I just didn't get a picture.

That's my Dad slalom skiing! My parents are so cool.

J slalom skiing! He and Julia are the only ones of us siblings that do it so far.

David loved the boat as well, though he got sick of it a little quicker than Sydney. Not much though!

He really wanted to drive the boat!

J and I hanging out on the boat and dock with Annalise who took this picture.

Sydney loved her Aunts! Here with Clarissa...
So yeah, lot's more pictures to come so check back!

Sorenson Family Reunion 2010

A little over two weeks ago(the morning after Scott's graduation) we headed out to Lake Tahoe for Scott's family reunion. It was quite the long drive(14 hours including potty breaks, gas refills, and replacing a flat tire) but were very happy to get there by 1am(I'm usually up til then anyway) and all in one piece. Driving through Nevada was particularly interesting as I had never been in that state before and the landscape was a little more rugged and interesting then eastern Washington or southern Idaho. Plus we saw a gorgeous sunset.

Sunday we went to church, unpacked, and caught up with three of Scott's five siblings and their families, and Scott's parents. We missed Russ and Hilary and Ken and Misti!

Monday was planned by Scott's parents. We started out with lunch at a park, then played a bunch of fun/funny games, and then had a "birthday party" for everyone with a big gift exchange.

This is the scowl that Sydney will give you if she doesn't know you really well already.

Aunt Jillian loved holding Parker!

Uncle Jeff playing with David before the party officially started.

While thay were supposed to be playing duck duck goose, Naomi and Sydney were dumping dirt all over themselves instead.

One of the games we played was so hilarious. It was two teams racing each other to put different clothes items on, the first person doing one item, and by the last person they have to put them all on, and then you do the same process of racing back and forth to have each team member take one item off at a time......yeah, this is making no sense. Suffice it to say, it was so much fun! I would also have a picture of Scott but we were on opposing teams going at the same time.

Jeff sporting the other flip flop, a hat, shorts and vest.

Tuesday we started out at the Tallac Historical site(a few old houses built by rich families in the 1920's) and then went down to the beach that was right next to them. This first time to the beach Rick, his boys, myself and then Scott after I was done were the only ones to get in the water. Which I thought was a terrible shame as the water was amazing, clear and just beautiful! I LOVED it!!

Here's all the grandchildren minus two! Ok no, three. Calvin(the oldest) was there but must have missed this picture. Notice how none of my kids are looking...

Our kids didn't like that place much I guess. They whined the whole time.

Jillian, Jeff, Jason, Rick, Scott's Dad, and Scott playing with a bunch of his nieces and nephews in the background.

Parker with Grandpa

Love this picture!

David didn't want anything to do with the water, but he had a blast in the sand and throwing the frisbees.

Tami, Rick, and I

Love this picture too!

That night we had a girls night out. We went to an amazing ice cream place and had a great time talking! I love my sisters-in-law!

Wednesday the Pingry's and us went on a hike to a Scandinavian "Castle" also built around 1920.

The Pingry boys

Sydney checking it out. We went on a tour and the house was just beautiful.

The wood work and detail on this house was just amazing.

Thursday we went on another smaller hike to a stream profile chamber where we saw trout in their natural habitat in a cut out of the stream. And after that we all went to the same beach again.

Scott and Jeff swimming way out there! The water did not get deep very fast at all.

Enjoying the straw and marshmallow war we had! And eating them. =)

Some of our nieces and nephews and Grandpa swimming

We were so sad to have only 5 days with everyone, but we had a great time! Lake Tahoe is most definitely a place I want to go back to. Despite already having McCall (which is where we went next) I totally fell in love with this place. LOVED it.
