Our Family Pictures

On Saturday we were going to spend the day down in Pocatello at the water park(those pictures coming soon), and so I called my friend who moved there to see if she'd take our family pictures. We didn't end up with a lot of time so we were a little rushed, and of course with three children under the age of 4 it was pretty difficult to get one of all three of them looking. Plus Sydney decided to be in a sad mood right then. The sun wasn't helping either, but that's ok. That was a good thing as we were going straight to the water park after. I'm happy with these two and just need to decide which one to frame for the wall. Which one do you like? Check out Parker's face in the second one!

Parker Trying Rice Cereal

So this time around I haven't been in quite as big a hurry to get to solids, but recently Parker has been extremely interested in our food so I decided it was time.
Well aparently it's not so glamorous as he thought it would be. He hates it! You can tell he's just not enjoying it at all and he starts fussing after only a couple minutes. Oh boy, here we go! Gotta love the baby food stage.
In these pictures he doesn't look so repulsed, but he decided he was after I took these and every time since.

And I had to include these cute pictures of Parker sleeping and just waking up.

Our Father's Day Food

Even though Scott is doing P90x I wanted to make him some yummy food for Father's Day. Part of it was because we don't really have the money to spend on presents, but it ended up costing a little extra anyway. Oh well! Seriously it was so good that I feel obligated to share these recipes!
For breakfast I made this Baked French Toast Casserole. I know I have never had anything so delicious in my life that didn't involve chocolate. To me it was also the ultimate comfort food. You really should check it out! And I don't have a picture, but for part of dinner I made these Jerk Chops. Scott and I had never had them before and we were both in love! Soooo good!! Anyway, just thought I'd share!

Happy Father's Day to a Very Special Father

Before I talk about my wonderful husband I want to show the pictures of him holding each of his kids right after they were born.
David...
Sydney...
Parker...
My husband is so amazing in so many ways. I don't even know if I can adequetly explain, but I'll do my best. First of all I'm going to give you a run down of Scott's schedule these last few years. Get up and go to work at 3am, classes and tutoring German all day, come home aound 6, dinner with the family, give kids baths, 8pm put kids to bed, homework, 10-11pm go to bed. Yeah, Scott is pretty much amazing. I don't know how he does it. How he can come home from a day that started at 3am every single day and still have the energy to help me with the kids as much as he does is beyond me. He knows I'm mentally tired by the end of the day and so he gives the kids their baths and  reads their stories and puts them to bed. And he never complains about it! On the weekends when he would rather stay home and do nothing because of his crazy week he goes out so the rest of us can get out of our tiny space. He changes diapers, no complaints said. He plays with the kids even when he's so tired. The kids love him to death and can't wait for him to come home every day.  I am just so lucky to have him as my husband and father of my children. I really couldn't ask for a better man. Thank you Scott for being the amazing father you are. We love you so much.

The Cheese Monster

I told myself that the next time this happened I would be sure to get a picture. It's been a few weeks, but the cheese monster (aka David) finally struck again...

Finally, the Spray Park

We have not been having very good weather since it opened on Memorial day and when we did our kids were sick or I just couldn't get out that day with them. Finally Monday was beautiful and we were able to get out in the evening as a family! It was so warm and so much fun. I couldn't find David's swim suit so he just wore his jean shorts, and Sydney who did have an adorable swim suit wasn't really interested in the water at all. She even got upset when she got her feet a little wet. Seriously I don't know where they get this from! Scott and I both love to swim! Even as kids. They better get over it before our vacation this summer! Well, David was definitely better than he's ever been before so that's good. Anyway, here are some pictures. The weather quickly turned nasty again so we'll see if we can get out to do this again any time soon.

Sydney really just wanted to go on the carousel. Next time I'll have to remember the quarters!

Pictures for my other brother and sister in law

A couple weeks ago I took pictures for Scott's older sister and her family. They just live about 10 minutes away so we have spent a lot of time with them. It was a lot of fun to take their family photos! We just walked around their neighborhood. The first few spots we found were in bright sun light and it just wasn't working so I won't even post those pictures. But finally right at the end we found some well established shade and they turned out so much better! I don't think I will EVER intentionally shoot in bright sunlight ever again.

Our Big Boy David

There has been a sad lack of posts about David for like a month now and I feel kinda bad about it! It's definitely not for lack of cuteness or adorable doings. He is just getting cuter and cuter in a big boy way. His vocabulary is expanding every day and it is so much fun to talk to him. He plays with Sydney well most of the time, and is in love with his little brother. He get's so excited about the most simple things and it always brightens up my day, and he loves to give us all hugs and kisses. Seriously David is the cutest boy ever!! Not that I'm biased or anything.

Yesterday we went to the Farmer's Market. It was a special day where they had games and drawings for the kids, the release of 10,000 ladybugs, and fire trucks and an ambulance they could get an inside look at. David wasn't interested in getting in them because he didn't want to "drive away" but he did get to knock some things off the top of an orange cone with the fire hose! He loved that.

I LOVE this picture.

We met up with Scott's older sister Heidi and her kids. This is David's cousin Naomi.
They're buddies.

Then he started being silly and we were racing back and forth, me teasingly trying to catch him on the camera, and him trying to smile and run away before I could take it. The little stinker! =)
I think Sydney is not the only one with the tongue thing. lol.

They were playing music and David felt comfortable enough with all the other kids running around to break out in a dance...
Sure do love our big boy!

Sydney's Birthday

If you know Sydney then you know she doesn't handle lot's of attention very well, especially when it's unexpected. I was excited for her to have her birthday but was a little worried she'd end up scowling over her cake as we sang to her. Well the day started off great.

I know she loves Cinderella and looking at the other Disney Princesses so I bought her Disney Princess wrapping paper. Before lunch, before I'd used it I showed the row to Sydney, very enthusiastically pointing out the crowns they were all wearing. I had bought her a pretty crown and knew she'd never let it on her head if I just popped it out all excited and plopped it on her head. My plan worked. She couldn't stop looking at the Princesses and crowns. I knew it was probably safe then and pulled it out asking her if she wanted to wear a crown like Cinderella, pointing again at her enthusiastically. Sydney was excited about it and soon after couldn't stop looking at herself in the mirror. We've never done princess stuff before so it was fun.

Then we had nap time, and when she awoke I knew we might have issues with the crown because that's just post nap Sydney...

But it luckily didn't take long for her to remember she liked it and life was good again. :)

I need to take a break from Sydney for a moment and show off my friends awesome cake making skills...
You can find her at Megan's Specialty Cakes. She also made David's Mickey Mouse Club House cake last November, if you remember that. She'd love to do a cake for those of you in or around Rexburg!

Sydney always points out the bugs in book illustrations. Put that with girly colors and I knew it'd be perfect for our little girl.

About to blow out the candles. I wasn't sure she'd do it so I totally missed getting a picture!
Mmmmmm, strawberry with chocolate frosting...
Sydney opening presents. You can't really see her face but she's very excited.

David was so excited about this one he couldn't wait for her to open it. He kept saying what it was and waving it around. Luckily at the time Sydney was distracted by the cake.

Once she realized what it was she was extremely excited saying, "What's that! What's that!" and just wanted to look at it. Tinkerbell the movie that both the kids love.
We should have opened the other two presents(books) first because she tossed them aside as soon as she saw them and went back to the movie!

I failed to get pictures of anyone that was there, but thank you Heidi, Naomi, a few second cousins to Sydney, and my friend Madaline for sharing the evening with her!
