Halloween.........and probably a huge break from blogging...Grr

Well apparently blogger isn't as great as it seemed(to me). I am unable to upload anymore photos unless I purchase more storage somewhere...something I can't do right now. I've had it with the internet. Websites make you think you can do all these cool things and then poof, it's taken away from you. I'm so sad(depressed actually) that I can't continue blogging. I thought it was such a good way to keep up our history. And for me since this blog is all about the kids I don't see much point in updating without pictures. I'd rather just write it in my journal. So....yeah, sorry to all you who enjoyed reading our blog. haha, I just thought of a Harry Potter quote that seems quite fitting right now..."Never trust anything that can think for itself (close enough) if you can't see where it keeps it's brain." I'm DONE.

And just because I was about to post about Halloween...
On Saturday we went to two Trunk or Treats. The kids had fun playing carnival type games, getting candy, and being on a sugar high. The second Trunk or Treat we were with my family and we had a great time eating corn bread and chilli and getting candy. My Dad carried Sydney around to get it and she loved it. Afterwards we went to their house and watched How to Train Your Dragon. Love that movie.

Did you look into flickr at all? A free account let's you upload 2 videos and 100MB worth of photos a month (http://www.flickr.com/help/limits/). If you resized your photos, that would be plenty I'd think. Then you just add the code to your blog post and your photo shows up! No need to upload to blogger.

I'm sorry you're having so much trouble. But hosting pictures online requires bandwidth and that requires A LOT of money. This is just blogger's way of making sure no one abuses their free hosting. But it sure does stink for people like you who have just had the blog for a long time and have accrued a lot of pictures.

Anyway, the bottom line is, there are ways around it! Don't give up, please! I want to see Halloween pics! :)

If worse comes to worst, why not start another blog? Users are allowed an unlimited number of blogs. It would be annoying to set up the template and everything again, but then you could just start over with your storage limits. Keep the old blog and post a link to your new one, volume 2?

(Sorry for the long comment!)

what if you just created another account?

Can't you just put the photos on your computer and upload from there? I must be old school, I just use an external hard drive to store photos.

What a bummer. It's extra work, but I always compress my photos first. I agree that maybe just start one more blogger account and then compress your pictures?

You can print your blog into a book, then you should be able to clear all the past posts and do more with out having to pay. I haven't done any of the research, but what I hear it's not expensive to get it done. You should look into that so we can all continue following your blog. Good luck!!!

I printed my first year of my blog into a book - but it was over $100! I think it was around $140. What's the storage amount allowed? I better check into that....I bet Im coming up on full storage, too! Eeek!

How sad! I'm sorry you feel that way :( I never use blogger's picture uploader. I upload everything to photobucket and put the image codes in my posts. I resize manually, which takes longer, but it's worth it. I get the pics at the size I want them to be. And really, since I edit everything first anyway, resizing isn't that big of a deal.

I hope you figure out something that works for you! It'd be sad not to see posts from you anymore.
