Sydney is Four Months Old!

Since I just had a post with a bunch of pictures of Sydney, here is a little video. (Well never mind cause it won't upload. Why aren't videos working for me anymore?! I'll try to get one up soon. Sorry family!) Sydney is really growing fast. She now weighs a little over 12 lbs. She loves to hold and suck on basically anything, which is entertaining to watch. She LOVES to look at herself in a mirror. She just starts wiggling all over the place and getting all excited. She is the biggest smiler I've ever seen. Just so happy. And we've even gotten her to laugh just a little bit a couple times. David wasn't a huge laugher either. One thing that isn't going so well at this point in time is her sleeping at night. She naps really great now usually at the same time that David does, but nights. uuuuugggggggghhhhhhhhh. She wakes up multiple times a night to eat, and because of lack of space I feed her lying down in bed and falling asleep, so she basically sleeps with me most of the night. I'm not motivated to go out to the living room to sit up and feed her. Every now and then I'll wake up and get her back to her bed, but then just like an hour later she's up and crying again. As a result most every night neither of us sleep as well as we should and we're also usually sweating to death. Ah! What do I do? She can't go in the crib yet because we haven't gotten a bed for David yet, so she's still in our room. and it's such a small space that the rocker would have to sit on top of our bed to fit. lol. yeah right. Oh dear. Well, we'll get it worked out. It really just comes down to the issue of space. Besides the current horrible nights though, Sydney is such a joy in our lives, and we feel so blessed to have her. When she smiles up at me I just can't stay frustrated at anything. We love her so much!

She's an adorable li'l girl Sorry about the night thing, but one thing is true with babies: Change - hopefully for the better!

She's a beauty, Alicia! That space thing is so tricky. We have a two bedroom place and finally had to move Adam back in our room so we could get Molly to sleep through the night without waking him up. It's not ideal, but you do what you have to do right? Molly was still waking up multiple times at night until she was nine months and then I'd had enough. I found a great book that really helped me- it's "The Sleep Lady Shuffle" if you're interested.

You are a great mother. I am sure that you will figure it out. It is funny how each baby has their own little quirks. Saydee sleeps well at night but cat naps during the day. I get nothing done! She only sleeps for like 30 minutes at a time. It is a good thing that they do smile and melt our hearts because they are hard but so fun at the same time.

Four months have absolutely FLOWN by! It's crazy to me. I'm sure that the sleeping nightmare with Sydney will pass, especially as school progresses for Scott. Let's hang-- soon!
