Babies Bedding:Is it creating toxic nerve gasses?

My cousin posted this on her blog and I was so appalled by the info that I had to post it on mine too. It's an article that talks about research done on toxic chemicals put in mattresses and bacteria that grows in them, and together creating toxic nerve gasses. The research shows that it is a very likely explanation of SIDS. I personally am convinced. I know a lot of mom's read my blog and I highly recommend reading this article!

Very interesting!!! It makes me wonder about my little boy, Matthew, he has suffered with sinus like symptoms since he was little and still does-especially in the winter time. All the doctors say it can't be sinus' because they haven't developed yet. HUMMMMMMMMM... Thanks, I'm going to look more into it!!

This was an interesting article. However after reading it and reviewing their resources, credentials, and their research I do not think this should be considered the cause for SIDS. Also I think the editors note is very important when reading this article. "Editor's Note: Subsequent research has failed to establish the link between baby mattresses and SIDS that this article asserts. Midwifery Today, Inc. does not endorse the research cited above, but presents it as part of the overall effort to prevent SIDS." I think as parents it is our duty to always look out for the health and well being of our children, but we must be careful about what we read. That being said I think we should all read this article (http://sids-network.org/images/limer1.pdf) published by the British Department of Health wich disputes the findings of the article "Baby's Bedding: Is It Creating Toxic Nerve Gases?"

Thanks for posting this information--I would not be surprised to find something to it. I for one think that it is best for babies to sleep on their tummy. They sleep so much better that we. Either that way, or in their bouncy chair. So it would be nice to find a common sense reason for SIDS so that babies can sleep on their tummies again.
